Help! Strange Characters in my data...

I am trying to read data from 1 MS access table to populate certain fields in a 2nd MS Access table, using Expression Web.  

When I read table 1,  store that fields in a cookie variable, and then read it into another table, I get strange characters in the 2nd table...

The original table has "Mr. Greg R. Johnson" in the name field.  The 2nd table has "Mr%2E+Greg+R%2E+Johnson" in the name field....

How do I format the data so table 2 data matches table 2 data?  

Let me know what else you need to know to be able to help me troubleshoot this. I am new to using Expression Web.
